Cueto and his agent were probably seeking something in the Max Scherzer realm (seven years, $210 million), which might seem crazy but is plenty justifiable for a pitcher who has registered a 2.48 ERA and 1.07 WHIP in 677-plus innings over the last four seasons despite making half of his starts at power-friendly Great American Ball Park. The 29-year-old Cueto should strike it rich this winter.
